Iraq Education Initiative Project
American Universities Iraqi Consortium
A major component of the IEI Project at AED is the establishment of the American Universities Iraq Consortium. Accredited U.S. universities and colleges interested in serving students from Iraq under the HCED Scholarship Program are invited to become a member of the consortium. HCED will be placing students with consortium members that can streamline the admissions and placement process for Iraqi students. Colleges and universities that offer the following are encouraged to join the consortium:
Provisional (conditional) admissions to undergraduate and/or graduate programs
One point of contact for admissions to all programs
ESL training onsite or nearby
Issuance of DS-2019s so students can travel on J-1 visas
SAT and other test score waivers at time of acceptance
Consortium Registration
To join the consortium, interested U.S. colleges and universities are invited to complete an American Univerities Iraq Consortium institution profile. The profile requires responses pertaining to the services of various campus offices. We advise that you first view the pdf version of the survey, which can be downloaded below, to gather all relevant information prior to beginning the online version. One completed profile for each institution is strongly preferred.
