Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) Admissions
The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM), in partnership with the Academy for Educational Development (AED), a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce a new university admissions service for Saudi King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP) students to undergraduate, Master’s level, professional, and PhD study at U.S. colleges and universities.
If you are a U.S. university-based Intensive English Program (IEP) provider, or if you represent a U.S. university interested in enrolling Saudi students in your academic programs, please contact us at capadmissions@aed.org or via the link below.
In January, 2008, AED will be focusing its efforts on placing new King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP) students in intensive English language programs. Once students have arrived in the United States, beginning in March, 2008, AED will be researching academic program opportunities appropriate to each student's academic goals and admissions credentials.
Message for King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP) Students:
Congratulations on your award of a King Abdullah Scholarship! We hope that this is the beginning of an excellent educational experience for you. We anticipate that you will find your studies in the United States an exciting, challenging and worthwhile experience that will enhance not only your academic and professional life, but your personal life as well.
AED is currently working with Intensive English Program (IEP) providers to process the paperwork (I-20 forms) that you (and your dependents, if applicable) will need to secure a U.S. visa. Once you receive your I-20, please contact the U.S. embassy for a visa interview. In addition, if you have any questions about your assigned English language program, housing arrangements, campus facilities, etc. please be in direct contract with the English language program staff as indicated on your I-20.
If you use this I-20 to enter the United States, you will be required to attend at least one English Language session at this institution. No exceptions permitted.
While you are in the United States learning English and, later, enrolled in an academic degree program, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) will be monitoring your academic progress and providing any guidance you may need to complete your program in a timely manner. Any request for program changes must be approved by SACM. For more information on SACM, please visit their website at www.sacm.org.
As a scholarship student, SACM will be providing you with financial support, including a monthly stipend, tuition, reimbursement for university application fees, reimbursement for standardized tests (GRE, GMAT, SAT, LSAT, TOEFL), medical & dental coverage, and airline tickets.
While you are improving your English language skills, AED will be working to enroll you in an academic degree program. We will contact you soon after your arrival to begin collecting any additional information we may need to help us match you to an appropriate degree program and to answer questions you may have that are related to that process.
We wish you safe travels to the United States and look forward to being in communication with you once you are here.
Best wishes, AED Admissions Team
