AED is pleased announce a new project: the Iraq Education Initiative (IEI) - Scholarship Program. AED is assisting the Higher Committee for Education Development in Iraq (HCED) to fulfill its mandate to send thousands of Iraqi students per year, for five years, to study abroad and complete higher education degrees. This project is part of a larger Iraqi initiative to transition Iraq to a peaceful and prosperous country focused on improving educational and economic opportunities for its people. A major component of the IEI - Scholarship Program at AED is the establishment of the American Universities Iraqi Consortium. Accredited U.S. universities and colleges who are interested in serving students from Iraq under the HCED Scholarship Program are invited to become a member of the Consortium.
