The new world-class postgraduate research university, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, has launched the KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) to produce the region’s premier scholars of science and technology. Exceptional Saudi high school graduates are selected for the program and placed in top-tier preparatory and undergraduate programs in science and technology in the U.S. Upon graduation, the KGSP students will matriculate to KAUST for graduate studies.
KGSP students receive full financial support from KAUST, including tuition costs, a living stipend, and academic skills building and enrichment opportunities. Student development and student enrichment activities include research that applies science and technology to the problems of human need, social advancement, and economic development. The Academy for Educational Development (AED) supports KAUST with student placement, advising, and facilitation of orientation and enrichment activities under this program.
